Biography

A proud rider from the Navajo Nation, Keyshawn Whitehorse found his calling early. At just five years old, he told his father while watching the National Finals Rodeo, “I want to do that.” What followed was a journey defined by faith and focus. Rising from mutton busting in rural Utah to the elite ranks of professional bull riding, Whitehorse became the 2018 PBR Rookie of the Year and one of the sport’s most respected cultural ambassadors.

Guided by a deep blend of Navajo tradition and faith, Whitehorse prays three times before every ride — once in the locker room, once behind the chutes, and once for the bull. His signature bow guard and grandmother’s beaded medallion aren’t for show — they’re reminders of protection and pride. Inside the Arizona Ridge Riders locker room, Whitehorse is both the team’s trusted closer and unofficial DJ, known for keeping his portable speaker with him at all times.

Now a seven-time PBR World Finals qualifier, Whitehorse rides with purpose — every eight seconds a reflection of faith, heritage, and heart. Whether it’s a clutch walk-off in Glendale or a high-marked ride under Vegas lights, he competes to honor his family, his Nation, and the generations of strength behind him.
